4th of July Weekend Family-Friendly Events

There’s just something about 4th of July weekend that makes Chattanooga sparkle even more than usual. From small-town parades and bubble parties to big-time fireworks and family festivals, the Scenic City really knows how to celebrate.


I’ve rounded up some* of the fun happening from Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6 to help you plan a weekend full of fun, freedom, and maybe a little funnel cake.

💥 Thursday, July 3 💥
  • Freedom Festival 2025 (Collegedale) @ The Commons | 4pm

    Live music, food vendors, activities for kids, and fireworks after dark. This free event is one of the area’s biggest and best!

  • Pops on the River (Northshore) @ Coolidge Park | 4pm-7pm

    An evening of patriotic music by the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, food trucks, and a family-friendly atmosphere along the river.

  • Outdoor Movie Night (Downtown) @ TN Riverpark | 8pm

    Bring your chairs and blankets for a free family movie under the stars. Perfect way to ease into the holiday.


💥 Friday, July 4 💥
  • Signal Mountain Parade (Signal Mtn) along James Blvd | 9am

    A true hometown parade complete with bikes, floats, and flags. Get there early for a good view!

  • Lions Club 4th of July BBQ (Signal Mtn) @ Althaus Park | 10am-2pm

    Stay after the parade for delicious barbecue and community fun.

  • Red, White & Blue Day (Downtown) @ Creative Discovery Museum | 9am-5pm

    A fun-filled day of festive crafts, science activities, and patriotic play for kids.

  • 1945 Fair (Trenton) @ Jenkins Park | 12pm-10pm

    Step back in time with a vintage-themed fair featuring old-school games, food, and music.

  • Nightfall (Downtown) @ Miller Park | 6pm

    This is the last Nightfall of the season, and they are going out BIG with a Bluegrass Bubble Bash. Live music, food trucks, and a block-party vibe. Great for families looking to groove before the fireworks.

  • Lakesite Freedom Celebration (Lakesite) @ Dallas Bay Church | 6pm-10pm

    Live music, games, and fireworks make this a great spot for evening fun.

  • Lookouts Baseball Home Game (Downtown) @ AT&T Field | 7:15pm

    America’s pastime on America’s birthday—with postgame fireworks, of course!

  • Lake Winnie Fireworks (Rossville) @ Lake Winnie | 10pm

    Ride the rides all day, then stay for the fireworks show lighting up the night sky.

  • MORE FIREWORKS

    • Decatur, TN - Fireworks show in downtown Decatur, begins at dusk.

    • Athens, TN - Fireworks at Athens Regional Park starting at 9:30pm

    • Monteagle, TN - Fireworks at dark

    • Whitwell, TN - Fireworks at Miners Memorial Park at 9pm

    • Etowah, TN - Fireworks show in downtown Etowah at 10pm


💥 Saturday, July 5 💥
  • Soddy-Daisy Independence Day Celebration (Soddy-Daisy) @ Soddy Lake Rec Complex | 10am-11pm

    A full day of live music, games, food trucks, and fireworks.

  • Red, White & Moo (LaFayette) @ Blessing Creek Farms | 10am-1pm

    A farm style twist on celebrating the fourth of July featuring coffee & cows. Enjoy a festive morning of good vibes, cool drinks and even cooler cows.

  • Fireworks Fest (Ringgold) @ Catoosa Colonnade | 3pm-9pm; Fireworks at 9:30pm

    Bring the whole family for carnival games, live music, and fireworks.

  • Big Boom (Jasper) @ Phillips Ave | 4pm-9pm; Fireworks to follow

    Everyone is invited to the event that promises to be a blast.

  • Carnival Americana (Lookout Mtn) @ McLemore Resort | 6pm

    A luxe evening of food, fun, and themed festivities. Ticket purchase required, limited number of tickets available.

  • Riverfront Nights (Downtown) @ Ross' Landing | 6pm-10pm

    Free music by the river and a great spot to wind down your Saturday. Plus it's 90s Country Music Night... need I say more?!

  • Chattanooga Red Wolves SC Soccer Game (East Ridge) @ CHI Memorial Stadium | 7pm

    Cheer on the Red Wolves in a spirited evening match.

  • Chattanooga FC Soccer Game (Downtown) @ Finley Stadium | 7pm

    Catch local soccer action with a fun community vibe.

  • Lookouts Baseball Home Game (Downtown) @ AT&T Field | 7:15pm

    More baseball, more fireworks, more fun!


💥 Sunday, July 6 💥
  • Chattanooga Market (Downtown) @ First Horizon Pavilion | 11am-4pm

    Red, White & Blueberries! Finish your weekend with fresh produce, handmade goods, and family-friendly vibes.

  • Lookouts Baseball Home Game (Downtown) @ AT&T Field | 2:15pm

    One last chance for summer baseball fun before the work week begins.
